this hat reminds me of big takeaway cups of soy hot chocolate in autumn. i made this to practice “make one” increases, and to see if i could figure out knitting a hat from the top down. it was great, especially because i could take it off the needles and try it on while i was knitting, so it turned out perfectly exactly the right size. this is mostly stocking stitch, with a moss stitch border at the bottom to stop it rolling. the fancy swirly pattern at the top is just what happened when i did the increases evenly.
this was knitted in leftover 100% acrylic – “craft spun” 8 ply.
